With the protégé’s employees motivated and working together to incorporate suggestions and corrections, the small business will benefit greatly by the end of Build to Success’ program The M/WBE will have been able to:

• Reinforce its foundation
• Expand its knowledge and customer base
• Develop skills
• Improve operations
• Strengthen its resume and financial statements

While participating in the program, there will be quarterly check-ins and reports to assess progress and collect data. When the mentor, protégé, and Build to Success agree that the protégé has made demonstrable progress, achieved its goals, and hit every benchmark, they will graduate from the program.

After graduation, Build to Success and the mentor will work with the M/WBE to develop a post-program plan. We will continue to collect quarterly progress reports to ensure the former protégé is consistently improving. When the small business is content with their progress, we will ask them to return to the program as a mentor.
